Shareholders seek £18m damages from Quindell

SHAREHOLDERS in under-pressure insurance claims handler Quindell are seeking up to £18 million in damages after the firm restated financial accounts dating back to 2013.

The Hampshire-based firm said it had received a letter from a law firm acting on behalf of a claimant group planning to take action against the company, estimating potential claims worth £9 million.

The law firm has also been approached by other claimants seeking a further possible £9 million, according to Quindell.

Quindell said it would “vigorously defend” itself against the claims.
