Sherwood Truck and Van wins major order for lorry units

COMMERCIAL vehicle group Sherwood Truck and Van has won a major order with a fleet transport company.

Sherwood, which is based in Blackwell, Derbyshire and has sites in Sheffield, Nottingham and Stoke, is supplying 22 Iveco Stralis lorry units to Ritchie Transport, a Melton Mowbray firm.

Phil Salmon, group used sales manager, said: "We are delighted to receive the order from Ritchie Transport – a well established and well-known transport company. It is testimony to our abilities to provide first class support service that helped clinch the deal."

Ritchie Transport is part of the United Pallet Network. It has clients ranging from the construction industry across to food and retail logistics and was impressed by Sherwood's business support.

Ricky Morris, managing director of Ritchie Transport, said: "We were looking for a fleet change using a supplier which could provide reliability and top class support. The order fulfils our aim of offering a fleet of vehicles large enough to cope with most volumes, across a range of different sectors."

Sherwood, which has 188 staff, is run by father and daugther team Terry and Helen Waterfall. Last year Mr Waterfall handed over the day-to-day running of the business to Helen.
