Showcase celebrates industry

The Leeds Digital Festival is a celebration of digital technology and platforms. The digital industry includes senior figures from the worlds of art, culture, education and lifestyle.

The festival features a range of events, shows, lectures, and social events which aim to bring the community together.

Events taking place this week include the Leeds Girl Geeks Dinners which takes place at the Mint Hotel in Leeds on November 2 from 6.30pm.

It will feature some of the brightest female talent in the digital sector.

Another event – Doing It For The Kids – is being held on November 3 at 6pm in Dock Street Market in Leeds.

Today’s children are “net natives” who believe the internet should be available on demand round the clock.

This session brings together Leeds’ leading companies in the digital youth market: Dubit, Made by Pi and Numiko along with Giana Cassidy, a leading psychologist and lecturer in Interactive Entertainment Design at Glasgow Caledonian University.

ON November 7 and November 8, a two-day course will be held at 3 Albion Place in Leeds, which aims to give a comprehensive overview of digital marketing disciplines.

The Dadi Awards – the Drum awards for the digital industries – recognise and reward digital excellence.

These awards are open to all businesses, including agencies, who are producing effective digital strategies.

The awards will be presented on November 11 at 7pm in Saviles Hall at the Royal Armouries.
