Showcase to highlight the global openings in transport projects

advisers from South America, Asia and the Middle East are heading to West Yorkshire to showcase global opportunities relating to transport infrastructure.

The World Transport Showcase at the Met Hotel in Leeds on May 17 promises to provide information and insight linked to major projects for airports, ports and railways that local businesses could support.

Organised by UK Trade and Investment, a team of specialists from Brazil, Mexico, India, Turkey, Vietnam, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Oman will be on hand to answer queries and address issues relating to specific markets and sectors.

The free event – the first of its kind being held outside London – will also provide access to copies of reports on airport opportunities in Vietnam, ports opportunities in Brazil and rail opportunities in Turkey.

Detailed presentation sessions will support the launch of the reports, and there will be a general overview of high value transport projects in the Middle East as well as a networking lunch.

“There are a number of major projects covering airports, ports and rail that offer exciting prospects for firms across Yorkshire and the Humber, and the aim of the World Transport Showcase is to explore them in a bit more detail,” said UKTI regional director Mark Robson, who will deliver the opening address at the Met Hotel.

“The event is aimed at both experienced exporters who are looking to develop their international business, and newcomers who are taking their first steps towards global growth.”
