Skipton raids Nottingham for new FD
SKIPTON BUILDING Society has hired the number two from smaller rival Nottingham Building Society to become its new group finance director.
Ashraf Piranie is presently finance director and deputy chief executive at Nottingham, which he joined in 2007.
Past roles include director of finance at Alliance & Leicester and joint managing director of the start-up Islamic Bank of Britain.
Skipton said he will join in March and his appointment has regulatory approval.
He replaces Richard Twigg, who has moved to Skipton subsidiary Connells to become finance director.
