What was your first job?

Care assistant in a nursing home. Boy, did I get the job description wrong. I thought I'd just be making cups of tea.

What was your worst mistake?

Trying to shave an old man's face. See first job, above.

What would be your ideal day away from the office?

A day in London, then a West End show in the evening. I love all musicals and am waiting for a new production of Spamalot.

Marco Pierre White – a complex and intelligent Yorkshireman.

What was your best subject at school?

English Literature.

What are your hobbies?

Chasing around after my two young children.

What would you do if you won the Lotto?

Buy a holiday home in Italy – Umbria or Tuscany, which are beautiful, relaxing and family-orientated.

What is your top time-saving tip?

Don't procrastinate. Just get on and do it.

What is your favourite time of day, and why?
