On The Spot With Steve Peacock

Steve Peacock is a director of Greenbuy Energy, a Sheffield-based green energy firm with a showroom in Doncaster.

What was your first job?

A trainee surveyor for a Sheffield-based building company.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing?

I would like to be in a role where I deal with people face to face and advise or help them. Maybe a social worker, teacher or doctor.

I don’t think you should dwell on mistakes as this would imply some form of regret. The important thing is to recognise mistakes and learn from them without dwelling on them too much.

What’s your ideal day away from the office?

I’d spend it with my family. My daughter was born recently and she is my first child.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why.

What was your best subject at school?

Maths.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy photography and cycling.

What would you like to do if you won the Lotto?

I would carry on with my life as it is. I would still strive to make Greenbuy Energy a success, and I would use the money to help make this easier by investing in more staff, training and equipment. I would also make sure my family was financially secure for the rest of their lives.

What is your favourite time of day and why?

6-7am.

What is the best thing about Yorkshire?

Yorkshire people are very savvy when it comes to parting with their hard-earned cash, and so it is rewarding to know we are succeeding in delivering high quality and value for money.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

‘In memory of Steve Peacock. A selfless, loving and inspiring son, brother, partner and father.’
