Squirrel stored away for growth

THE US-based Cintas Corporation yesterday announced that it had secured the acquisition of Leeds-based Squirrel Storage, one of the UK's largest independently owned storage businesses.

Squirrel is a document management business that offers services including storage, retrievals and confidential destruction.

Joe Fribourg, the director of Corporate Development, Europe, at Cintas, said: "Cintas found Squirrel Storage to be a very solid investment as it positioned us well to expand our European footprint."

Simon Ruston, the sales director at Squirrel, said: "Squirrel Storage had come to a point where we are prepared for new growth opportunities. Cintas provided just the opportunity we were looking for to expand our penetration throughout the UK."

Established in 1991, Squirrel Storage will continue to operate under its present name.
