Success story of brownfield jobs incubator

A BUSINESS park in Yorkshire has helped to create more than 250 jobs over the last three years.

Bradford Chamber of Commerce's business incubator in Laisterdyke, Bradford, has provided a home for 48 businesses since it opened in 2007. The business park in New Lane has transformed a previously derelict brownfield site that was once notorious for fly-tipping.

The 2.5m project has also led to further regeneration work nearby.

Bradford Chamber's property director Andrew Robertson said: "The business park owes some of its success to its diverse range of tenants. We have solicitors in offices next to water and energy consultants and magazine publishers. In the same building is a herbal tea distributor and a general contractor. The building is designed to improve collaboration and I think it does this well with breakout areas and meeting rooms as much-used features."

The 19,500 sq ft of space is divided into 26 offices.
