Summit to strengthen India trade
More than 400 businesses from the UK and India are taking part in a major conference which is being held in the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
The event, which has been organised by the UK India Business Council, has attracted heavyweight companies such as Tata Group and Rolls Royce.

Hide AdMr Cable said: “We are clear that we must build far deeper ties with new centres of global growth, and rebalance and improve the low trade volumes with India. This means supporting and encouraging a range of companies, both large and small, to do business in India in the future.”
According to official figures, the UK exported £4.6bn of goods and services to India from January to October last year, compared with £4.07bn during the whole of 2010.
