Synergize appoints new director to help it grow

A Yorkshire-based energy efficiency specialist has announced a senior appointment, as the sector faces a “turbulent” time.

Synergize, which is based in Garforth, near Leeds, has appointed Tony Butler as director.

A spokesman said that this appointment was part of a strategy to ensure that it maintains its position as one of the North of England’s largest energy efficiency specialists.

Mr Butler has been involved in the energy efficiency industry for 16 years. He started out as an insulation installer, and then moved on to become a technical surveyor and quality assessor.

He has spent the last four years as commercial manager at Yorkshire Energy Services, where he was responsible for delivering projects to tackle fuel poverty and reduce CO2 emissions across the UK.

Peter Jones, the managing director of Synergize, said: “The current lack of continuity in Government policy on home energy efficiency is creating poor consumer confidence and, with elections looming next year, we expect very little to change in the short term, leaving the industry in a ‘hiatus’ position.

“We are not resting on our laurels. Tony’s experience and track record of finding new and innovative routes to market will ensure that we maintain stability in the business, and are geared up for delivering schemes which will allow home and business owners to improve their properties; for the good of the environment and their pockets.”
