Tech firm LexisNexis creates dozens of jobs with software centre

The firm’s Enterprise Solutions division, which provides technology to law and professional services firms, is set to grow its workforce to around 150 following the launch of its Software Centre of Excellence.

Since opening the research and development facility this year, LexisNexis has employed a further 50 people, bringing its current workforce in Leeds to 120. The newly-opened centre has the capacity to employ 150 people, with the possibility of extending further.

Andy Sparkes, general manager at LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions, said the Leeds facility is “a key strategic investment”.

“We have a clear vision for the development of our integrated product portfolio, and this is an important step in our ongoing evolution,” he added.

LexisNexis has appointed David Espley as its UK technology director, who will be responsible for overseeing the centre.

It will serve as a national product development hub for the development of its key enterprise services for law firms, which include resource planning and case management systems.

The firm said the centre has been established following “consistent revenue growth” in recent years.

As well as the 50 jobs already created this year in Leeds, LexisNexis is recruiting across other business areas.

The centre will also serve as the company’s European customer support hub and still have capacity for future growth.

It is modelled on a LexisNexis US development centre, based at NC State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the firm’s relationship management software for professional services firms is managed.
