Training demand boosts Eurosafe Solutions

The firm, which specialises in fall protection systems for people working at height, said the positive result was down to new contracts with major facilities management and property management companies across the UK.

As a result of the boost, Eurosafe has taken on four new staff in its design office, sales and operations departments.

It is now planning to take on an additional nine employees, including four on-site engineers and five office-based staff, to meet further expansion.

The Sheffield-based company is working with the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) to develop an apprenticeship programme.

It is recruiting four apprentices, two site engineers and two AutoCAD technicians who will join the business from September.

The business is also targeting further growth in its training division, which offers specialist height safety training courses at its purpose-built 5,000 sq ft training centre, as well as at client premises through the UK.

Gavin Ellis, managing director of Eurosafe Solutions, said demand for training services is rising as businesses look to ensure their employees are properly protected.

He said: “Companies are realising the need to ensure their employees are trained to a high standard, allowing them to correctly use the safety equipment that has been provided for them.

“Lack of training is very often found to be a significant contributor to why accidents happen.

“Our training centre allows us to give employees far more than normal classroom based courses.

“Here they will gain real hands-on experience in correctly using equipment they will rely on for their own safety when carrying out their daily duties.”

To celebrate the first anniversary of the training centre, Eurosafe is holding a free half-day training event on Friday July 31st. Attendees will have a chance to achieve a recognised harness training certificate, valid for a three year period.

The half-day course covers both harness and lanyard training, teaching how to choose the right harness, fit it correctly and wear it safely.

The course also gives an overview of relevant health and safety laws and regulations surrounding harnesses, as well as how to use and maintain harnesses correctly.
