Wilson Field staff stalwart rewarded for long service with promotion to the board

BUSINESS recovery and insolvency specialist Wilson Field has appointed long-serving staff member Julie Fantom to the company’s board as director of HR and operations.

Mrs Fantom has been with Wilson Field since the company was founded in 2001 and has been responsible for the day-to-day running of the business.

Wilson Field now has offices in Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester and West Midlands.

Mrs Fantom, who is based at the Sheffield office, said: “It has been wonderful to be a part of the development of the business, watching the company and individuals grow. When I joined there were just a handful of us and we all had to do a bit of everything.

“Now we have almost 80 staff with a complete range of HR and operations procedures which accompany an ever evolving medium-sized national organisation.”

Elsewhere, Simon Lea has been appointed British Airways airport manager at Leeds Bradford Airport where the airline will start its new Yorkshire operation in December.

From December 9, British Airways will operate four-times-a-day flights direct from Leeds Bradford to Heathrow. Mr Lea has worked for British Airways for 35 years and has experience in aircraft operations and dispatch as well as customer service. He will begin his new job at Leeds Bradford Airport on September 1 and will be responsible for setting up the new operation ahead of the December launch.

Meanwhile, Victoria Darcy has been appointed to the board of directors at private wealth management consultancy company Brook-Dobson Brear in the role of operations director.

She joined the Harrogate-based firm as a temp as one of its first employees in 2006 and was then asked to join permanently in the role of practice manager which she has held for the last five and a half years.

The company said she has been instrumental in the success and growth of the business, overseeing the recent move to larger new offices in Hornbeam Park and the recruitment and management of the team, as well as the day-to-day management of the business operationally.

Meanwhile, Hull law firm Andrew Jackson has announced the appointment of trainee solicitors Byron Swarbrick and Mike Hirst as paralegals, following completion of their two-year training contracts.
