Yorkshire accountancy firm Fortus sees record growth for third consecutive year

Fortus, the fast-growing business advisory and accountancy firm has achieved a third successive year of growth.

The York-headquartered business, which was established in 2020, saw overall revenues rise to over £4m in the financial year ended March 31 2023, driven by continued double digit growth from its core service lines, including tax, accounts and outsourcing and business services.

The company’s headcount also increased to 70. This includes apprentices, with the firm now having over 11 professionals in its training and development programme.

In addition, Fortus, which also has teams in Leeds and Scarborough, made a number of notable new hires including Dom Marley, head of wealth management, and Zoe Waring, people manager.

Over the year the firm also expanded with the launch of its insolvency service, FTS Recovery.

In addition, the firm recently announced a business reorganisation designed to focus on the key markets of the North of England and Scotland.

Chief executive Craig Herbert, said: “It’s an exciting time for Fortus as we go from strength to strength, with a string of notable hires and the introduction of our new wealth management offering. Looking ahead we’re confident we’ll achieve significant growth in our next financial year, with forecasts predicting revenues will increase by up to 50 per cent in 2024.”
