YP Letters: Another dressing down for M&S over small changes

I CAN well understand that the new chief executive of M&S is concerned about the poor clothes sales in their shops.

As you indicate in your Editorial (The Yorkshire Post, May 26), many of the customers are conservative.

In the local store here in Beverley, they have recently discontinued a dedicated till for the sale of clothes and now payment is made at the general checkout.

My wife, who is far from conservative, objects, to this 
on a number of counts, 
including the fact that with 
the best will in the world the 
till operator may well have handled fresh fruit and vegetables before handling her clothes.

She is also not happy 
that her underwear choice can be viewed by everyone in the queue.

She will not be buying her clothes at this shop until this situation is rectified, and I suspect that many more of their customers will do the same.

I TOTALLY agree with Andrew Vine (The Yorkshire Post, May 31) about supporting local tradespeople. They offer the best service because their personal reputations are on the line.
