Zoo Digital gains clients but loses revenue

Zoo digital, a cloud-based subtitling and captioning specialist, reported a drop in revenue that contributed to a loss in the last financial year.

Despite this, the company’s full-year results stressed a positive outlook, as monthly billing increased and its client base became more diversified.

The company, which is operated across sites in Sheffield, London and Los Angeles County, saw revenue fall 7% to $9.6m (£5.8m). It recorded a $0.4m loss in the 12 months to March 2014, compared to a $0.7m profit in 2013.

However, it revealed five of the six major Hollywood studios now use its subtitling services, either directly or indirectly.
