Coach Daryl Powell says Castleford Tigers have completed their recruitment
The Tigers have bolstered their options across the pitch, with head coach Daryl Powell adding four new players to the ranks at Wheldon Road. Niall Evalds, Suaia Matagi, Jordan Turner and Lewis Bienek have all signed on the dotted line in West Yorkshire ahead of the 2021 campaign. Powell feels there is plenty of depth within his squad due to a number of younger players earning squad numbers for next season.
Cain Robb has claimed a spot in the first-team squad and joins fellow academy graduates Brad Graham, Sam Hall, Jacques O’Neill, and Lewis Peachey in the senior side.

“There is depth in each position and we have got some good young players coming through.
“Pre-season has been really good. The boys came back in great shape and fitness levels have been really good.
“We are just getting onto the structural part of the game now and how we are going to play, we are piecing everything together.
“We are looking forward to it, it is a great challenge.”

Evalds has been handed the number one shirt after joining from Salford Red Devils while the addition of Turner will provide much-needed competition for places.
The Super League season is set to kick off on March 25 and Powell feels there is added motivation in his side, with players keen to keep their place in the team and even secure their futures at the club.
“They have all slotted in really well,” added Powell.
“Niall, who we signed earlier on, looks really exciting. He has been an outstanding player for a number of years now.

“Suaia Matagi’s work ethic has been fantastic.
“Lewis Bienek as well, he is going to be a real fans favourite with his both size and barnstorming runs.
“Jordan Turner has come with a voice and a good attitude and he is going to push people for starting positions and bench positions.
“The competition for places is really good and we have got a few players in the last years of their contracts as well, so there is a lot of motivation there.”
