A series of multi-distance trail running and rambling routes for all abilities form the Asda Foundation Yorkshire Dales Festival on the weekend of August 10 and August 11.

Tickets go on sale today for the two-day fundraiser in aid of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal and its partner charities. The event was previously known as Jane Tomlinson’s Walk For All and was held between 2011 and 2013.

Tristan Batley-Kyle, one of the festival’s organisers at Walk For All, said: “With four walking routes, one of which has been designed to be completely accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs, and two challenging trail-run routes, there really is something for everyone.

“We wanted to get people out enjoying the Yorkshire Dales, promote active lifestyles and encourage an appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us, all whilst raising funds for a number of amazing causes.”

A 16-mile and a five-mile trail run will be staged on the Saturday, followed by walking routes covering four, five, 14 and 26 miles on the Sunday.

Mike Tomlinson, husband of the late Jane Tomlinson, said: “I’m really glad that we have been able to relaunch the Dales Festival this year.

“Growing up in Settle I was lucky to be surrounded by such a fantastic landscape to explore. So when looking to host a trail run and walking festival it was any easy decision when it came to location.”
