City universities compete in sporting challenge

STUDENTS from both of Leeds’s universities are to compete in a sporting contest in more than 50 different fixtures next week.

The Leeds Varsity competition between Leeds and Leeds Metropolitan University teams takes place at venues across the city, on Wednesday October 3, in a variety of sports including boxing, fencing, ten pin bowling and golf.

The contest, which is now in its eighth year, culminates with a rugby union match at Headingley.
