Dear Mr Cameron, I’ve had enough of homework

MOST schoolchildren are reluctant to do their homework, but few are so incensed at the prospect that they take it up with the Prime Minister.

However Alex McTeer, 10, was so angry about having to do school work after classes he told his mum he wanted to write to David Cameron to demand action.

Alex, of Sheffield, explained to his mother he had “had enough” of homework and penned a note to the PM to complain and ask him to do something.

But the family were shocked to get a letter from back from Mr Cameron’s offices - explaining extra curricular work was important for children.

An aide to the Prime Minister counselled that Alex should do his homework to help him in future life.

Alex’s mum Nicola Robinson said while her son was thrilled to get a letter back he wasn’t ‘absolutely delighted’ that Mr Cameron couldn’t help stop him having to do homework.

Nicola said: “Every Friday he gets sent home with homework and it really grates on him. He hates doing homework because he thinks home time is his time to play.

“When he grows up he had wanted to join the police force, but I think he would like to be Prime Minister now.”
