Video: TV’s Mr Burton backs competition to recognise Yorkshire’s star teachers
Matthew Burton was one of the stars of the Educating Yorkshire TV series filmed at Thornhill Community Academy, near Dewsbury. His work to help GCSE pupil Musharaf Asghar overcome a stammer was one of the most inspirational storylines from the award-winning Channel 4 documentary.
He has welcomed The Yorkshire Post’s plan to reward the best teaching in the county and the campaign promoting the importance of getting young people to be able to read and write.
