Nursing cutbacks linked to higher mortality

A SURVEY has found 65 per cent of NHS staff would be happy to recommend care on offer at their health trust – up two per cent on the previous year.

There were 12 trusts nationwide where fewer than half of staff would recommend services, falling to only 40 per cent at the Mid Yorkshire NHS trust, which runs services in Wakefield, Pontefract and Dewsbury.

The poll of 203,000 staff found improvements in 21 out of the 28 categories compared with the previous year.

Bosses at the Mid Yorkshire promised to act on findings which showed trust staff were in the lowest 20 per cent nationally for satisfaction and motivation.
