Hosted by Parkinson’s UK, the event is aimed at anyone living with or caring for someone with Parkinson’s but people from South Asian communities especially are invited to access information from specialists.

Speakers will give insights on the ways Parkinson’s can impact South Asian people, whose experiences are often under-represented in support services and research.

Shafaq said: “Parkinson's can affect anyone but research has often failed to represent the diversity of the community. The work Parkinson's UK is leading on aims to address the unknowns regarding how Parkinson’s affects people from under-represented groups and help make research more inclusive, accessible and representative. With appropriate management you can carry on living well and have a fun, productive life with a Parkinson’s diagnosis. I am a practising dentist who enjoys swimming, walking, kung fu and crochet.''

The event will be held on June 17, 10am-3:30pm, at Bradford City Hall.
