It was originally announced that Whitby Abbey, Scarborough Castle, Mount Grace Priory and Brodsworth Hall and Gardens would be among the 'priority' sites around the country that would re-open in early July.

Brodsworth's grounds have already re-opened and three more attractions with outdoor space have been added to the list.

Kirkham Priory, Middleham Castle and Pickering Castle will open along with Mount Grace Priory, Scarborough Castle and Whitby Abbey on July 4.

Only visitors who have pre-booked tickets will be allowed entry into all sites. This rule applies to English Heritage members.

Toilets and takeaway catering are available at some sites but not all.

There will also be social distancing measures in place and each site will have a limited capacity.

The National Trust has also re-opened outdoor areas of Nostell Priory, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, Hardcastle Crags, Marsden Moor, Beningbrough Hall and Wentworth Castle Gardens.
