Versace sunglasses, Chanel jackets and Chloe dresses up for sale at Tennants Auctioneers in North Yorkshire
“Fashion changes but style endures,” as Coco Chanel never tired of pointing out. She was right, and the proof can be seen in the enduring appeal of her own label designs, which continue to exchange hands for considerable sums of money, long after their original wearers first bought them.
This Saturday sees Tennants Auctioneers in Leyburn offer for sale a private collection of designer outfits and accessories, largely from Chanel, but also featuring key pieces by Chloe, Gucci and Aquascutum. Most are a size 14 and all are immaculately presented, says the auction house, with highlights including a Chanel loose woven jacket in peaches and cream (estimate: £200-300), dresses by Chloe (estimate: £120-180), sunglasses by Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dior and leather handbags and shoes by Salvatore Ferragamo.
