Madge Keegan, the landlady of the Roundabout for 20 years, who died aged 82 in 2009, was famous for blasting unruly punters with her soda syphon.

It was the first pub to openly welcome gay customers and prisoners out on licence from Wakefield Prison.

After refurbishment it became a wine bar called the Priory.
