Famous Yorkshire pudding store launches new chocolate wrap for pancake day

A store based in York has put a Yorkshire twist on pancake day this year.

The York Roast Co. has launched a unique sweet treat for pancake day, the ChoccyPud wrap.

The company, founded in 2004 by father and son Wayne and Stephen Chadwick, shot to fame in 2017 when their YorkyPud wrap became a viral sensation online.

A BBC video showing the huge Yorkshire pud stuffed with a full Sunday lunch was shared extensively on social media and watched by over four million people on Facebook, prompting social media star Arron Crascall to travel over 250 miles to try one.

The summer of 2017 saw queues of customers stretching down the street hoping to get their hands round the YorkyPud wrap

Hoping to repeat their previous success, today the team are encouraging customers to eschew traditional pancakes and instead try the sweet take on their classic wrap.

The ChoccyPud wrap includes chocolate spread, brownie pieces, crushed Oreos and a flake encased in the stores' famous Yorkshire pudding with a dollop of cream for dipping served on the side.

The new chocolate treat is available at both store the Low Petergate and Stonegate stores in York, as well as further locations in Shrewsbury, Salisbury and Chester.

It launches in store today and will be on sale until the end of April for £4.95.
