Hull Council said it would stay closed "until the imminent risk to health posed by the extensive mouse infestation within the premises has been removed."

Rachel Stephenson, Food and Health and Safety Manager in Hull Council's Public Protection team, said: "Environmental Health will continue to support the food business operator so that if he wishes to make the improvements required to achieve compliance and re-open his premises he is assisted to do so.

"However, the poor conditions found were a threat to public health and therefore formal action was necessary to ensure that the premises would be closed both to online and walk-in customers until improvements have been made. The food safety team will keep these premises under close review over the coming weeks ".
