Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc 2009, New Zealand, Sainsbury, down from 8.99 to 5.82 until July 6. Full of bright gooseberry and citrus fruit, this New Zealand classic is now back on form. Drink on its own or with fish, goats' cheese or salads.

Chartreuse de Bonpas Ctes du Rhne 2008, France, Sainsbury, down from 8.99 to 5.99 until July 20. Slightly challenged at its full price, this big juicy, bramble and spice laden wine is now something of a bargain on offer. Stock up.

French Connection Saumur Champigny 2008, France, Co-op down from 8.99 to 5.99 until July 6. Terrific summer red with lively, raspberry-infused Cabernet Franc fruit and silky smooth tannins. Good with roasted duck breast and lamb steaks.

Bredon Brut NV Champagne, Waitrose, down from 21.99 to 14.49 until July 6. I was impressed by this at its full price, but on offer it is a steal. Soft apple and pear fruit, and biscuit finish.
