Variety, the children’s charity, has resurrected the “ResiProps” to mark the end of a long and painful recession for the sector. It is now calling for businesses and individuals to get their award entries in. The deadline for entry is August 14 and the organisers have made it easy with a dedicated website that allows you to send all the information online.

The prestigious awards are aimed at celebrating the region’s best developments and the property professionals who make them happen. There are 11 awards in total, including those for property personality of the year, best interior design project, best innovation, best small and large development and best estate/lettings agency.

The glittering event is set to raise vital funds for disadvantaged and disabled children in Yorkshire

The Yorkshire Residential Property Awards are sponsored by top law firm Bond Dickinson with Carter Jonas as co-sponsor and the Yorkshire Post as media sponsor with support from French PR and design agency DS Emotion. The black tie event will be held on October 8 at The Queens Hotel in Leeds.

Tickets for the formal dinner are on sale with proceeds going to Variety’s many charitable causes in this region. Charlotte Farrington, Variety’s Regional Development Manager, says: “It didn’t seem appropriate to stage the event during the recession but now we have seen the green shoots of recovery, we thought it would be a good time to revive it and celebrate the successes of the Yorkshire residential property sector. So far, is has been incredibly well received and we believe it will be a sell out.”

“The money we raise from the event helps us support disabled and disadvantaged children in many different ways. We provide respite from the physical and mental challenges they face and we help provide specialist equipment, such as sensory walls and trikes that make their life and their family’s life easier. Events like this make a huge difference and all the money we raise in Yorkshire is spent in this region.”

The “ResiProps” convivial atmosphere also offers a chance to meet fellow property people and make new connections. And, of course, there could be a chance of winning an award, which will boost business and feel-good factor.
