Georgina Gilks and her husband, Kevin, are a dream team when it comes to renovating property. He is a construction site manager and a joiner by trade and she has a flair for interior design.“I have the vision and Kevin makes it happen,” says Georgina.Between them, they had all the skills needed to turn what was a dated 1970s house into a spacious and contemporary home.
The couple, who have two children, bought Willow Court two years ago and, thanks to extensions and a remodelled interior, it has grown from having three bedrooms to five.“We’ve almost doubled its size and done everything from putting on a new roof to installing new electrics and plumbing. We also created an amazing kitchen, dining, living space and that’s where we spend most of our time,” says Georgina.
The couple are selling to move onto another property renovation.“I love this house and we had hoped to stay but we can’t help ourselves, we want a new project,” says Georgina, who hopes to stay in or around Pool-in Wharfedale.“It’s a fantastic village with a really great community. It’s very good for young families and there’s a school and a children’s playground.”Willow Court has an entrance hall, cloakroom and a spacious open plan living kitchen diner with bi-folding doors leading to the rear garden. The kitchen has a larder, integral appliances and an instant hot water tap.
The ground floor also has a separate sitting room with wood-burning stove, a dining room, office, underfloor heating and a utility room. On the first floor there is a master bedroom suite with a large bedroom, dressing room and en-suite with underfloor heating. There are four further bedrooms, three with fitted wardrobes and one with an ensuite. There is also a family bathroom with underfloor heating.
The rear garden includes a large seating area, a lawn and a double-width drive leading to a double garage with remote controlled roller door.
