This barn conversion in a rural village was a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of central York, where Jane Greenwood and her family used to live.

“We came from a townhouse in York and immediately fell in love with the amount of internal and external space here, along with the far-reaching views of the Hambleton Hills and the ease of access to Harrogate and York,” says Jane, who bought the property in 2016.

The family kitchen with cosy Aga, the abundance of parking, a four-bay dutch barn and a paddock sealed the deal.

The Greenwoods have since redecorated and fitted a new oil tank but are selling to move closer to elderly parents.

We’re sad to leave. It’s been a brilliant house,” says Jane.
