Don’t leave home without them

YOU need handy, space-saving and effective products for holidays. Stephanie Smith seeks out your summer essentials.

Bobbi Brown is an acknowledged magical maestro when it comes to creating perfect foundations and bases, especially for those of us who aspire to the barely-there look (so much more flattering once you are past 30 and no longer need layers of spot concealer).

Tinted moisturisers are ideal for summer, when you want light coverage but need an SPF. Inspired by her award-winning SPF15 Tinted Moisturiser, Bobbi has introduced a gel-based formula for normal and oily skin types, which brings sheer coverage while gliding on smoothly and evenly.

The new SPF15 Tinted Moisturiser Oil Free comes in seven skin tones and costs £27, on counter at House of Fraser this month.

Perfect for festivals or on the beach, this super-cute and handbag-friendly little tin from The Body Shop contains a solid perfume block of its heavenly Love Etc fragrance, in a form that’s ideal for rubbing into pulse points and around your neck and shoulder. It’s a sensuous but not overpowering blend of vanilla, sandalwood and jasmine notes, and it’s perfectly suited for day or night wear. The Body Shop Love Etc Solid Perfume costs £5 for 13g, in stores now.

There are few more irritating and occasionally comic make-up moments than when your eye make-up makes its escape down your cheeks to create a less than alluring Goth girl image – not what you want for a sexy summer beach look. Benefit Bad Girl Waterproof Eyeliner combats the problem most effectively, gliding on smoothly and not budging until you remove it with eye make-up remover. There’s a blending tip too for achieving either a subtle look or to create something with more drama. Now in shades charcoal and espresso, each stick costs £14, on the Benefit counters at Debenhams and online on www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk.

Pretty in pink makes for beautiful holiday nails for your summer holiday, although you don’t want to be retouching or redoing them constantly. So this fabulous Ultimate Wear Nail Polish in Sugar Pink, by Autograph at Marks & Spencer, is perfect for toes that intend to go bare on the beach as the hard-wearing formula will make sure it stays put longer than your average polish. It costs £6.50 in store now, from a selection of lovely nail polish shades at Marks & Spencer.
