Since the age of 86, he has been travelling to visit his son, who lives in the town of Fuengirola, and Harold has become a popular figure with cabin crew.

Born in 1915, he has just enjoyed a festive break on the Spanish coast and plans to return in June, when he will turn 102.

The airline has offered him two free return flights to any of their 10 destinations served by the airport.

“Monarch offers very convenient flight times alongside excellent seating space and general comforts," said Harold.

“Thanks to their staff's warmth and superior service I expect to be flying Monarch again very soon as I am made to feel very special when I board the plane.”

Monarch's regional manager for cabin crew Linda Latimer added:

“We feel honoured that Harold chooses to fly Monarch for his regular trips to Malaga. We think he must be our oldest customer!"
