21-year-old who died in fatal Barnsley crash named by police

A 21-year-old man who died following a collision in Barnsley on Friday has been named.

Reece Parkin died after the crash involving a car and a van a around 10am on the A616 bypass, between Wortley and Tankersley.

Mr Parkin, who was driving a Vauxhall Astra which was in collision with a white Mercedes van, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes van, a 42-year-old man, was taken to hospital following the collision. His injuries were not serious.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
