A second Monday of misery as train breakdown causes chaos

COMMUTERS endured a second Monday of misery after a broken down train caused chaos on some of the main routes through West Yorkshire this morning.

Trains between Ilkley, Skipton, Leeds and Bradford were delayed or cancelled after a train failed in Bingley early today.

Some trains which ran on time had fewer carriages than usual, leaving scores of commuters stranded on station platforms.

The fresh chaos came exactly a week after an almost identical breakdown last Monday.

Northern Rail said it hoped to restore normal services after the morning rush hour.
