Airline spreads wings in France

Ryanair is launching for new routes from Leeds-Bradford Airport to France from next month.

The budget airline will be operating services to Montpellier, Carcassonne, Nantes and Limoges from March 25. It is the first time there will be direct flights to these destinations.

Tony Hallwood, commercial director at Leeds-Bradford Airport, said the new routes to four different French regions opened up a range of new leisure and business opportunities.

"France is the number one overseas holiday destination from the UK and we are thrilled to be able to offer these exciting new services."

It is also hoped that the flights will attract more French visitors to Yorkshire.

Lynne Walder, who has lived near Montpellier for several years, said: "I have family in West Yorkshire so it is great for me that there is now a direct flight."
