Alcohol licencesreach record high
The number of premises licensed to sell alcohol reached a record high in England and Wales last year, new figures show.
The figures, which cover all premises from pubs and clubs to off-licences and corner stores, show 202,000 premises licences were in force – up two per cent from 198,000 last year.
