father Christmas arrived at Harewood House a little early yesterday – but then he was there his ‘elves’ to help to launch its winter season.

There will be a chance hear musicians, meet huskies, shop for presents and visit other attractions at the historic house near Leeds.

Events this year include the Essence of Christmas shopping fair from November 25 to 27, offering a chance to find gifts as well as enjoy walks and musical performances. The White Rose Winter Music Festival takes place between November 17 and 19 offering a series of concerts.

Harewood House is extending winter opening times and is open every weekend 10am to 4pm from November 25 to December 18 and in the lead-up to Christmas from December 19 to 23. Picture: Gary Longbottom.
