Appeal after group assault on North York Moors National Park pub punters

A group of men assaulted punters at a 17th century pub in the North York Moors National Park.

Officers are today appealing for witnesses and information about a disturbance that occurred in at The Moors Inn in Headlands Road, Appleton-le-Moors, at about 10pm on Friday, July 6.

A small group of men, who are believed to be from the area, went to the pub and assaulted "a number of customers" and fled before police arrived.

One man was treated at the scene and a second man was taken to hospital.

Police are appealing for information about the identity of the men involved.
