Appeal for witnesses and footage after Audi crashes into a hedge in North Yorkshire and teenage driver flees scene

Police have arrested the driver of a car that crashed into a hedge after over-taking another vehicle.

The Audi A3 was travelling along the A167 from Northallerton towards Darlington between 3.30pm and 4pm today (Thursday) when it overtook another vehicle before leaving the road and landing in a hedge.

North Yorkshire Police say that the 18-year-old male driver left the scene of the collision and was later arrested.

Officers are now appealing to anyone who was travelling along the road from Northallerton to Darlington and saw the manner of driving of the Audi or has any dash-cam footage of it to come forward.
