Armed police called to West Yorkshire motorway after reports of 'gun in car'

Police stopped a car at a motorway service station in West Yorkshire today after reports a person in the vehicle had a gun.

Armed officers were deployed to Woolley Edge Services, near Wakefield on the M1 northbound.

The vehicle was searched and West Yorkshire police later confirmed on their Twitter account that the weapon was a lawfully-registered air gun.
