Army of volunteers needed to go extra mile

PLACES in the first Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon may have been snapped up within days but there is still a way to be involved in the eagerly-awaited event – as a volunteer.

The organisers are now recruiting a small army of helpers to
help ensure the run, to be held in York on October 20, goes smoothly.

People are needed for a variety of roles including helping out at the start and finish, along the route, at drink stations and baggage store and in the race office. Senior marshals are also required.
