Arrests in Tommy Ward murder case

Two men have been arrested in South Yorkshire this morning on suspicion of the murder of Tommy Ward.

Mr Ward was found with serious injuries on the morning of October 1 last year at his home on Salisbury Road, Maltby.

He was immediately rushed to hospital where he remained in a critical condition for a number of months but he died as a result of his injuries on February 23 this year.

South Yorkshire Police said a number of warrants had been executed today in the Aston, Ulley, and Wales areas of Rotherham and in Hackenthorpe and Stradbroke in Sheffield, in connection with the force’s ongoing investigation into Mr Ward’s murder.

A 35-year-old man and another man, aged 30, were arrested and were taken into police custody for questioning.
