Artists open doors to showcase works

ARTISTS who work across South Yorkshire are opening up their studios to the public as part of an initiative which aims to publicise their creations.

Open Up Sheffield and South Yorkshire starts today, and will run on Sunday and Monday and next weekend at locations across the county.

Organisers said 107 artists were taking part this year with genres on show ranging from sculpture, painting and ceramics to tattoo art.

Project manager Maxwell Singh said: “Open Up is a grassroots visual arts event which offers artists the opportunity to showcase their work and engage a curious public.

“The event offers a great opportunity to buy or commission works and discover the rich seam of culture across South Yorkshire.”
