Attempt to steal money from Bradford cash machine may be linked to thefts in London and Hertfordshire

Two men attacked a cash machine in Bradford in an attempt to steal the money stored inside.

Enquiries are continuing but police believe the attempted theft is related to similar crimes in the London and Hertfordshire areas, where thousands of pounds have been taken from damaged cash machines.

West Yorkshire Police today released CCTV images of two men along with details of the Bradford incident.

It happened in the early hours of Friday, June 30 when two men approached the cash machine at Tesco Express in Bolton Road.

They damaged the machine in an attempt to steal cash then ran off on foot towards Groveway.

It is believed they ran off after being disturbed.

Detective Constable Clare Moran, of Bradford District CID, said: "We are working with other forces on this inquiry and would like to hear from anyone who may recognise these men.

"The attack on the cash machine in Bradford happened between midnight and around 1.30am, so we believe someone will have seen the suspects and would ask for anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area to contact us."
