Awards to honour unsung heroes

NOMINATIONS are wanted for this year’s “Night of Honour” awards in Sheffield.

The awards ceremony, now in its ninth year, will recognise the city’s unsung heroes at Sheffield City Hall on Wednesday, November 30.

Night of Honour director Louise Davies said: “Last year we had more than 200 incredible nominations and I was overwhelmed by their stories of courage, bravery and determination.

“The nominees are always the stars of the show and they prove that there are so many people making a difference to the lives of others in Sheffield.

“The Night of Honour is all about singing their praises. We hope this year’s event will be our biggest and best yet with hundreds of nominations from all over the city.”

Last year’s winners included Lifetime Achievement award winner Dorothy Slingsby, 90, of Manor Park, who provides her elderly neighbours with food hampers.

Nominations can be made online by visiting www.nightofhonour.org.uk or collecting a form from any Supertram service.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday, October 14.
