Backpack defence against bombers
Developed by British defence technology company Qinetiq, a new piece of kit called the Dragon Runner can remotely disarm improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and can be carried by a soldier in a backpack.
It is hoped the new equipment will cut the toll of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan.
