Barbadian finds new roost

A NEW recruit has brought a tropical air to the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs.

Barbados-born Ryan Chenery has swapped the 25C temperatures of his home for biting
East Coast winds as the reserve’s new Volunteer Development Officer.

His appointment, aimed at increasing the number of volunteers, is part of the revamp of the reserve, which has the largest mainland seabird colony in the UK.

Manager Keith Clarkson said: “Over the next few months we’ll be making further appointments in readiness for our new visitor centre opening next spring.”
